Chief Technology Officer
Alan has joined OTOC Australia as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, Alan is responsible for developing technology solutions tailored to meet specific customer needs and demands. Leading a diverse team of in-house technical personnel, Alan has been tasked to grow the Communications business with particular focus on a strategy built around four pillars: Plan, Build, Integrate & Operate.
Previously Alan was the Principal for Communications and Infrastructure Strategy for Rio Tinto Iron Ore for over 5 1/2 years. While at Rio Alan assessed and addressed the communications needs for Rio Tinto’s West Australian Iron Ore division. Of note this has included standardising Village Entertainment Services around GPON technology, DWDM technology for Pilbara wide backbone communications connecting Mine, Port and Rail facilities and LTE as the Wireless standard for all operations areas. The LTE project, the first private LTE network in Australia and the Resources sector globally has been recognised in industry by winning state and national awards as well as being recognised by the ACMA as a ground breaking project.
