Cathy Rainsford is the Assistant Secretary for Spectrum and Security branch in the Federal Department of Communications and the Arts. With over 20 years in the Australian Public Service, Ms Rainsford brings long experience and deep understanding of policy development to this role. Immediately prior to her current position, Ms Rainsford was the Assistant Secretary for Media branch in the department, with responsibility for supporting the government’s implementation of media reform. Ms Rainsford has previously worked in the Attorney-General’s Department and the Australian Taxation Office, in areas as diverse as family law, native title, superannuation and information technology project delivery. Ms Rainsford holds a Bachelor of Arts (Jurisprudence) and the Honours Degree in Law from the University of Adelaide.
