Jennifer Long Visual Ergonomics
Jennifer Long is a Certified Professional Ergonomist and an optometrist. Her business, Jennifer Long Visual Ergonomics, provides consultancy, advice and education in visual ergonomics. Control room built environments is one of Jennifer’s areas of expertise, particularly in relation to vision and digital displays, lighting and glare. She has provided consultancy advice for small, medium and large size control rooms, and this has been sought at the design stage to anticipate visual ergonomics issues and propose design changes to improve visual comfort, safety and productivity, as well as for post‐occupancy visual ergonomics modifications. Industries Jennifer has consulted to include energy production, energy supply, mining, healthcare (hospital), entertainment and transport.
In addition to her visual ergonomics business, Jennifer is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW. Her volunteer roles include Chairperson of the International Ergonomics Association Technical Committee for Visual Ergonomics and she is a past president of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia.
