5G promises to deliver 100 times faster data rate than today’s LTE network with a 1 ms latency. What is even more profound is that the network has to be accessible anywhere, anytime and be completely transparent to end users. To achieve these goals, many new technologies and higher frequency bands have to be deployed.
In this paper, you will learn more about what’s new to 5G; mmWave frequency band, Massive MIMO, Beam forming and Dynamic TDD. In addition, we will cover parameters for 5G network over-the-air performance test and evaluation including path loss, antenna pattern measurement, phased array antenna and verification. Lastly, we will look at the test equipment needed in 5G pre-deployment.
