As the IoT revolution gathers pace it will become increasingly important for businesses that want to remain competitive and relevant to leverage available technologies. Updated business models can create opportunities for new and improved revenue streams, along with operational efficiencies, driven via the prudent application of available data, but they are not without risk. With increased connectivity comes increased vulnerability, with each new device a potential entry point to networks. Data is becoming the new oil, enabling innovation and it too has its challenges. Protecting personal information while improving transparency adds complexity and the market still has a lot to learn about data sharing.
