A year is becoming to be a long time in critical communications. Much has happened around the world in the 12 months since Comms Connect 2017, including in developments such as:
- Enhancements and additions to global standards for critical broadband technologies for PPDR and other mission critical users.
- Commencement of implementations of those standards by a number of vendors and trials by users.
- Progress with international projects predicated on delivering mission critical broadband services.
This presentation by Tony Gray, Chief Executive of TCCA, the global body for all those with interest or involvement in critical communications topics, will report for Comms Connect Melbourne delegates on the latest status of and developments in a range of aspects highly relevant to the Australasian situation.
TCCA (www.tcca.info) represents organisations from around the world, bringing together all those with an interest in the provision of wireless communications in a mission critical or business critical environment. We believe in the principle of open and competitive markets worldwide through the use of common standards and harmonised spectrum. TCCA continues to support and promote the ongoing development and use of TETRA and other standardized narrowband technologies and is driving industry synergy in the development of future mobile broadband capability for the users and providers of critical communications. In so doing TCCA works closely with global standards development organisations and others who develop and maintain relevant standards. These include ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute and 3GPP, where TCCA is a Market Representation Partner (MRP) for critical communications.
