Chris Laufale worked for 20 years in IT around Europe, US and Australia working for companies such as Reuters, IBM, AT&T, Zurich and Optus specialising in service, project and program management. Chris returned to NZ in 2005 and worked for EDS and contracted to Telecom as part of their regulated breakup programme. He joined St John in 2009 as a volunteer first aider and attained clinical authority to practice as an emergency medical technician (EMT). In 2011, he permanently joined as the National Projects Manager and his first assignment was a deployment to Christchurch earthquake in a clinical capacity. Chris helped develop the business case to transform the ambulance sector from paper to electronic media. In 2018, Chris successfully transitioned Wellington Free Ambulance to EPRF and integrated ePRF linking DHBs and GPs around NZ before moving into the NGCC programme as Business Change Manager (BCM). He is still a practicing registered paramedic and active volunteer with St John. Victim Support and Coastguard.
