Reliable and efficient public safety communication impacts all of us – it is essential that first responders have access to advanced broadband technology in a way that meets their specific operational requirements so they can more effectively carry out their mission to save lives and property. The Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Division is the primary United States federal laboratory conducting research, development, testing, and evaluation for future public safety communications technologies. During this session, PSCR’s Strategy and Operations Lead Brianna Huettel will describe the future state of public safety communications capabilities through the lens of current research activities and advancements across mission critical voice, location-based services, enhanced user interfaces, uncrewed aircraft systems, and cybersecurity.
