Communications Systems Manager
Surf Life Saving NSW
Growing up on the coast and spending a large portion of his life in the ocean, Andrew appreciates the enjoyment and danger that this environment can provide. From rescuing his younger brother from drowning at the age of 10, Andrew has been involved in surf rescue in one form or another for 40 years. His career in business and education belies a constant association as a volunteer with Surf Life Saving. From encouraging his 2 daughters in Nippers to Patrol Captain at the notorious Bronte Beach, trainer and assessor of new lifesavers for Waverley as well as Duty Officer and UAV pilot for Sydney Branch, Andrew has in recent years been able to translate that experience on the beach to his current position managing and coordinating the State Emergency Response System through the State Operations Centre.
