This presentation will cover how simulated satellite signals could be used to overcome the loss of GNSS signals and provide accurate locations in underground environments.

A GNSS simulation system of this kind would require a combination of precision timing, synchronisation, and satellite simulation. The system would need to be able to replicate satellite signals and have GNSS receivers function as if they were exposed to live sky.

This technology could provide a wide array of benefits including helping emergency services locate crashes in tunnel systems, asset management in underground mines and providing better navigation services to the general population.
